FMG Consulting acted as the lead consultants, financial and leisure advisors for the procurement of a long-term (15 year) contract for the management of the Council’s three existing leisure facilities.
We prepared the tendering documentation and advised the Council throughout the Bidder dialogue process. Our role included assisting the Council with the evaluation of the Tenders received and finalising the contractual documents with the preferred bidder before appointment.
The contract was awarded to a leading leisure Trust and resulted in significant annual revenue savings against the budgeted affordability limit and the implementation of a £3.5m investment programme.
This project followed on from our previous work for the Council advising on a short-term (2 year) leisure management contract and feasibility studies for the development of a new replacement Morden Park Pools. The procurement process allowed for the closing of the current Morden Park Pools, to be replaced by a new Morden Park Pools during the Contract Term. A price to operate the new centre was obtained in competition which will see the Council save an additional several hundred thousand pounds per annum when the new facility is introduced.
